In the beginning... For years I made stickers for my own sets and a few friends but I started making stickers and selling them because a dear friend contacted me looking for a tile to complete a bone and bamboo set that had been in the family for generations. We could not find a tile and she asked me if there was anything I could do. I thought about it and told her I could try and make her a sticker - The first sticker looked fine but after considering it some more I thought there had to be a better way. Many trials and many errors have led to what I make today. I am very proud of these little works of art and pleased to be able to offer them to all my new friends and their friends as well. In researching and surfing the internet I came across a web site that described different hands in Japan. The highest scoring hand in one set of their rules is called "13 Orphans". I thought this was perfect for a service which basically helps place orphan tiles in new homes. For those of you who are not familiar, I am a collector. I am not a dealer! From time to time I do get sets into my little orphanage that need some tender loving care, for example, tiles are missing, there are no dice, no money chips, racks are missing or broken. I try to fix that. I never alter sets, and do try to keep as original as possible, integrity is very important to me and should be to every collector. I also rescue sets from the drills which turn tiles, racks and every other pieces of bakelite into jewelry. Some of those sets I offer for sale at my cost! CHarli |
