This is a very special box (7 5/8"  x  6"  x 4 3/4"), it is very heavy lacquer, the white trim is 1/4 round ivory, unfortunately some of the pieces are broken off but the box is exquisite. There is a key and it is also quite a nice design.

This entire set is ivory!  There are 148 tiles ( 1 1/16"  x 11/16"  x  1/4"),  they are solid ivory no bamboo bottoms. The "cross hatching" is clearly visible, no jewelers glass needed.  The betting sticks are solid ivory (2 7/16"), the die (7/16")  is solid ivory and the wind indicators (7/8") are also solid ivory.

The carving on this set is wonderful,  the bamboo suit and the flower tiles indicate this set was carved by a master.  I am estimating this set is from the 1920's.   Please come back again and I will try to get more pictures for it.
